Melo.D.B is an application that allows users to search for music. It lets them rate and review albums, and participate in discussions on their favorite artists. Users are able to look through reviews on albums and songs, and see the average rating of each item. They are also able to keep a favorites list of songs, albums, and artists of their choosing. They can explore members of a specific band, bands that a specific person was a part of, as well as their biography.
This application is for those who want to know as much as they can about the music they listen to, and share their passion for their favorite artists, albums, and songs with others.
Facebook Authentication/OmniAuth: Users can log in through their Facebook account
Musicbrainz: A database of music-related information. Includes information about artists, albums, songs, and more. Our site queries their API to populate our music information pages.
Nokogiri: Scrapes pages to obtain images from the Internet.
Redis: Caching for pages, images, and artist information; implemented as a large hash table
